My new 1965 coupe again (from Goldline Bias Ply tires to BF Goodrich radial)
Ordered the BF Goodrich tires (Radial A/T, 215/70) this morning , shop got them in the infternoon and then went in to get them installed. I'm really happy with the BF Goodrich: like the white lettering and lower/wider profile gives more of a muscle car look but it's not overdone.
Glen Green with Tan interior is so classy, love it!!!!
BTW, go to inspect the underneath of the car: it's spotless, all is looking really good. All 4 wheels are real K-H knock-offs dated April 66. Only disappointment is side exhausts: pretty sure now they were added later. They did a very good job though.

Looks great, old school style. I put the letters out on my BFGs as well, and then questioned that decision, but I photo chopped them to black wall in a couple of pics and didn't like the blackwall look as much. How do you like driving on them compared to the bias tires???:
Just make damn sure you tighten those spinners DAILY for a while after they've been off. Hammer the crap out of them.

Did not drive much yet with the new radial but could tell right away the riding/handling is much better! Car stays in straight line (with Bias Ply it tends to pull left or right on uneven pavement) and surprisingly steering is not much harder than with the skinny Bias Ply (dont have power steering and was concerned it would get quite harder to steer with the wider radial tires).

What color is yours? I think the white letters are a nice touch. Agree with all blackwall, looks dull.

i prefer the gold lines. Why not put some really cool tires on, period correct stuff, those BFG's should be banned from all cars for the next 100 years...

215/70 was a great choice and the midyear looks fantastic

I resisted 'til about 1980, now put 'em on everything in my stable, even trucks. Nowadays they're just good quality everyday tires that go an average of 60,000 miles.
(And I always install 'em with the white letters IN, so as not to alarm the BFG haters.)

T/A's were THE replacement tire for C2's starting in 1967, when they were the BEST street-legal rubber in America.

I like them, very vintage and original, but they're so skinny, kinda ruin the look of the car from the rear I think. And the radial tires give a much better handling. As for the white lettering, I like it with the Glen Green, but understands no everybody likes it.
Thanks for the compliments guys.

Pretty car! I had two Glen Green '65 coupes - one I ordered and bought new (L-79, black/white 2-tone interior), and one I bought in '71 and restored (L-76, A/C, black leather, tanker, tele).

Thanks. No, I love the side exhausts, just disappointed car did not come (most likely) with them from the factory. In the end, there were only 225 or so L76 that came with factory side exhausts...

Beautiful car. Congratulations!
When I bought my '65 convertible about 10 years ago, the first thing I did was replace the bias-ply tires with radials. Huge difference!!
