Default '59 is finally done

My ’59 project is finished (well almost). I still have a few bugs to work out, but it is running under it’s own power. Here is a link to more pictures: http://www.carols62.com/59/may13.htm

I guess you're not planning any night time drives? Or they some kind of black-ops covers?

Looks like that side bar has a swing out hinge for getting in and out. Right? :

My original intent was to take the car to the mile run at Maxton, NC, which is about two hours away. Last year the sanctioning body (ECTA-LSR) moved the event to Wilmington, OH which is a little over 400 miles away. So I guess I will take it to some local drag strips first and see how it goes.

The headlight covers were copied from the 60’s Le Mans cars. There are headlamps under there.

There is a swing out bar on the driver’s side, but not on the passenger side. I took (trailered) the car to a show last weekend and the trailer parking was about a half mile from the show field. My wife was able to get in on the passenger side, but it was a tight fit.
