Question about fan on 57
Simple question: Does the fan require both flat washers as well as lock washers when attached to the water pump? My 57 has them (from previous owner) and when I recently replaced my water pump I noticed that the flat washers were deforming due to interference with the fan rivet heads. Are the flat washers really required, or do I maybe have too large of a washer?

The fan attachment only uses bolts and lockwashers - no flat washers; see your Assembly Manual, Section 6, sheet 2.00.
