Default recommended tires

15'' Tires are getting harder to find for our cars. I know there has been discussion before on this subject, but I have need to replace my Michelin Pilots. They are no longer available, or are other brands with rated above "t" which I understand is rated at 118 mph. I'm not planning on driving that fast any time soon. Do want a tire that can hold it's own in the mountains.
Had even thought of going to 17" but between the new wheels and tires your looking at $1500.00. The money is not the object but worried about the ride.

One brand are BFG'S TA's and one or two others. Any suggestions on size, and brand, Was thinking 225-70-15 rear and 215-65-15 front.
Thanks in advance.

Default You might want to go to Discount Tire....

Back in April I replaced a set of 10 year old Michelins with a set of Hankook Otimo H724 tires in 205 75 X 15 Inch size when I replaced my stock steel wheels with a set of bolt on knock off wheels.
The tires are one inch whitewalls, are very quiet on the road, grip the road well and I've driven them at speeds up to 90 MPH with no issues of any kind. Best of all, they only cost about $440.00 for a set of four - much less than the pirates at some of the "classic tire" companies.

T/A's are a fine all-round tire for wet, dry, even light snow. Figure on a minimum of 40,000 miles, with a good combo of ride and handling all the way.

(I always turn the white letters in. )
