C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020
C2 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019

Default Two Years of Pure Fun

Two years ago I purchased a 1966 roadster out of Atlanta. It has knockoffs, side pipes, A/C (Old Air), leather, headrest, shoulder belts, P/S, P/B, L79, M21, hardtop, and 3.70 Posi. I have since added a 5 speed TKO 600, redline tires and Steeroids R & P steering. I wanted a restored car that somebody was going to loose money on. I have driven this car 8500 miles in two years and plan to keep driving the wheels off of it. At first I entered in in every car show I could fine but I have backed off the shows a little and prefer Corvette Shows. I have won Best Paint in the Richmond Corvette Show and Best of Show At the Cape Fear Corvette Club's show last September. That show was a 500 mile round trip. Anyway, here she is.

Being delivered in the rain.

And here are a few trophies.

The car had a few issues which have taken some time to work out. I really appreciate all the help I have received from this forum. I will not name names but you know who you are. The car looks much better with the redline tires but I don't have any really good pictures.

How much better could it look with redline tires? It looks fabulous with the whites!

Very nice Knockoffs, sidepipes, beautiful paint. It's all good.

Glad to see someone else driving their Vette and enjoying every minute of it.

Congrats Mark. Also kudos to someone that knows how to use lighting in their photography in showcasing the car. Nice work all around.

Thanks guys, I have really had a lot of fun with this car. It gets more miles than my Z06. The 5 speed and the R & P really improve the long distance driving. I have gotten 21 mpg with it several times. The color is not a factory color. I was waiting to see how long it took for someone to ask. It is a three stage paint. My pictures with the redline tires are terrible. I like it much better with the redlines and I'll try to get some better pictures this weekend.

The color looks a lot like my Dad's car which is a 66 Cadillac color called Ember Firemist

Very nice Mark, it looks too clean to have been driven all those miles! Do you ever bring it to this side of the tunnel, I'd love to see it. Of course I could drive mine to the beach!

Someone did since job on your car. Perhaps they will see your post and see how much you are enjoying the car.

Walton, I was next to you at a Charlie Daniels show last year. I get out to Suffolk all the time. I only burn the straight gas sold by Southern States in Windsor. Greg, you need to make a post about your car.
