Default Stolen 1967 Corvette roadster

Note to Mods- if this is the wrong place to put this please place it accordingly. thank you

I was just notified by a person I had come to know through a criminal investigation I was doing a few weeks ago,( He is the victim's son) that his Corvette was stolen. He told me today that a 1967 Corvette he has owned for quite a while was stolen out of the barn where he kept it. If anyone happens to see it, please either contact me or the Amarillo Police Department. It is a two top car, medium blue metallic currently, originally maroon he thinks, black interior, and has the NOM 350 in it. Not currently tagged or insured Serial # 2854. Thank you.

The owner is supposed to come thru tomorrow, and either text me some pix or bring them. I'll post them when he does. Thanks

He needs to get good info out fast, Licence plate, Vin # any possible distinguishing items?
Sitting in a barn, sounds like an inside job. How many would know that barn had a 67 in it? I hope it is found and fast.

Default Everyone rally the troops again, just like we did for Pat in the Monterey incident!

On this one, at least I wasn't the last guy to see it before it came up missing! You need to put up more, where when, time of day, what might have been going on- events, at a show, etc. as happened with the 1962.

PS I just saw that this might be 1989????????????????????? Honestly??????????? Yes I hope it still turns up, but it is probably one of the zillion claimed original 3x2 L-71's by now!!!!!!!

Look, I have no control over the quality of the picture. The car was stolen over the Labor Day weekend 2013. Serial number is 2854 as stated in above post and the car is not currently registered, so there sre no license plates. Reading is fundamental.

What's the state, year and month date for the inspection sticker on the windshield? That would make it sort of unique to watch out for, and unlikely to be removed

Default Recent stolen here 2013, not 1989!!.

Hey everyone let's get things rolling to help for him/them. But need more data as I said above. If it happened to me, I hope guys that differed in opinions on the forum could set their grievances aside (opinions about my posts) to help me find my car and vice versa (me to help them find their car). But this OP and me have never met, so we are OK! Thus some of my favorite guys on the forum won't be Corvette Forum guys "with a lost Corvette" and I would miss them!!!!!

I assume Armarillo Texas? New Mexico?? I will have to look up my geography! And I am not trying to be funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car was taken from Amarillo, Texas, over the weekend, before Tuesday morning. It is an older restoration, repainted in non stock color. The owners state that they had been very careful about never having the warehouse doors open anytime they were there, and never mentioned to anyone where it was kept. Three cars, Camaro, Mustang and the Corvette were in there, Corvette only one stolen. Car had not been driven in about 3 years, job time requirements, etc, and the front brake calipers were bad, so it evidently had little or no brakes, and was empty of gas. Also, the car is a hardtop only car. This sounds more and more to me like someone who knew the car was in there. They said they used to belong to a Corvette club but hadn't been active in the last 3 or 4 years. Thieves were very determined, as there were several areas that had to be breached to reach it. The original block was dragged out of the corner, but not taken, for whatever reason. Texas Inspection sticker was several years old, and car only had paper plates when it was driven very occasionally. Owner had his dealer's license. Hate to say this, but it sounds like someone who knows Corvettes are more valuable with the original block, but couldn't steal that too. Thanks guys and girls

Dealer's paper license will be trashed, but the inspection sticker is unlikely to be removed. If you can get specific (year, month expired), it really narrows it down as a more unique thing to watch; especially if it shows up as a part only on fleabay or craigslist.
