If I said it once, I said it a million times, I looked at a lot of SWC's, short of a top flight car, this was the nicest I had come across. It was loved by all its previous owners.
You will have to have Mike drive it and share with me what he says about the shift feel of that transmission. I don't know who set that up in Colorado where the previous owner lived before moving to western Illinois, but that person sure had some magic in those skilled hands of his between the rebuild of the transmission, the set up of the shifter as well as all the suspension pieces. Very impressive and skilled.

It looks great. Please let me know if your 61 plays nice with the 63 - if they play well together - I may pick up a 63 too.

A fun day for sure Frank, seems like yesterday that the big truck showed up at my door with the '62, almost seven years ago, time and many happy miles will will fly by for you too.

Awesome day Frank. Congratulations! As Rich said it certainly sounds like you may be getting that "other" bug. When we got ours it was so much fun learning the nuances of the first year Sting Ray. Some were cool, some were OMG!
If you're going for originality, also a great reference is the Judging Guide. It has the old Service bulletins too.
As far as the HL buckets/motors go, you can fix 'em up. You have the books already! Betting they just both need a cleaning and new lube.
Have fun and try to get some sleep tonight.

I knew I should have held out for that extra $20 after you came back from driving the car with that grin you had ear to ear! That was when I knew for sure that the car had found a new home....I'm sure I could have held out for that extra $20.....dang!
Besides, this past weekend in Kennebunkport we bought another house....like we needed another house........and the one had nothing to do with the other. Sharon's gig is houses, my gig are my cars and photography......

Frank, congrats on a beautiful car.
I can't imagine how many times you will walk out in the garage and just look at both cars and say, wow!
As a kid I always use to love to watch Bonanza. Not for the show, but for the ads. I just waited every week for GM to advertise the 63 with the space age doors, sloping back and interior.

Congrats on the new ride. I think the '63 is the best looking Vette they ever made (coupe or convertible), the dash is exquisite.
I don't know if you've ever owned more than one fun car before, but I learned the hard way that it is difficult to own more than one love. When I bought my '63 I had owned my '55 Chevy for 25 years. I thought I would take the opportunity to update my '55 now that I had another car to play with.
I took the '55 apart and it's been sitting on my lift for the last 6-7 years. I just can't make myself get out of the '63 and work on the other car. It's too cold to work on it in the Winter, and too nice to not drive the Vette in the summer.
Good luck juggling the two cars. I hope you do it better than I've been able to do. Not only do I miss my '55, I also haven't been able to use my lift for all those years.

Francois - If you're like me, you've been repeating to yourself: "If I ONLY had a (fill in the blank), THEN my life would be complete..." Well, NOW your life is "complete"; until the NEXT "Needful Thing" pops on your radar...
I guess a LOT of us here are exactly that way, aren't we? Congrats - a Midyear Coupe has been on MY "Needful Thing List" since ~1966; finally fulfilled this year with a '67...

Wife was over in Tampa yesterday with the grand daughter when the SWC was delivered.
She just got home an hour ago and walked around the car 4 times and sat in it for about 10 minutes just looking around. She's in love with it and says its nicer than the '61 in her opinion. She said what I've thought all along, "How could you not buy this ?"
Then she said, "...when are we gonna christen it?".
I guess she saw my expression because I got "the look"....and she said, "I meant take it for a drive Romeo!"

I guess we all (men) think the same way. I know you're not a real big guy, but I don't think many have done the deed in a Corvette and enjoyed it.
