Default Recommended tires C1 1960 283/230hp

I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for replacement whitewall tires for my 1960 C1. Mine are cracking and looking a bit old. I have seen some P205/75R 15 manufactured by Coker Tire and sold by Summit Racing. They look nice in the ad but have no idea how they ride. Thanks for any suggestions. JT

Stay away from Coker. They have a well documented history of unacceptable tires. Take a look at Diamond Back tires. They sell correct, brand name classic tires. Dennis

Get some nice passenger car tires, they are made to ride nice and quiet. I have goodyear 215/70-15 Integrity brand, if there is an issue about anywhere its easy to deal with.

I bought Diamond Back wide white walls for my '58 and it was like adding power steering and a new suspension. Best purchase ever.

On my 60 I used 205-70-15 Diamond Backs with a 3" WW and I would do it again if I had to.

They delivered faster than quoted.

The tires are quality and have a great looking white, white wall. The tires do not have any manufacturers name, writing, or tire information on the outside of the tire.

They are a real nice looking tire.

The equivalent size for the original 670-15 in a radial is 205 75 R15.
Lots of them available usually in blackwall.

Thanks for all the great advice. Looks like I am going hunting for some Diamond Backs. Vettebuyer5869, I liked your "power steering and suspension" comment. What size tire did you put on your 58 to get that great ride?

I wanted to have a wider tire and opted for 215-65R 15`S on a 6 inch rim...I wasn`t looking for correct tires but rather what I liked and still had clearance
