I have been wanting to do the same thing myself. Haven't been able to open the wallet that far yet.
What made your choice on the Accel unit over the Edelbrock, Fast, or Holley port fuel setups ?

I was able to get a great deal on the Accel because a friend of mine decided to go to a different set up. So it was 1/2 the cost and the harness was already set up for a midyear. Also, the corvette shop, who I also do work for, has done many of these systems with excellent results.

A very nice set up... I've heard very good results with this system added to a SB.

Looks like a nice setup. I hope it works well for you. What intake manifold is that, where is your oil filler, and what is your transmission?

It is a Pro Performance Hurricane intake. Oil is added thru the valve cover vent (not pictured), I am running a Tremec TKO 600.

Do you have a picture of your valve cover vent?

These are the best pics I have. You can see where the vent goes in above the "C".
The valve covers are PLM. I had them tumbled and the Script Corvette polished.

Ah. I only just learned about the PML valve covers recently. From the earlier views, I had thought they were factory finned ones. Last question-is that the factory round alr cleaner base? (I can't go look at mine right now, as I just towed my poor beast to the shop with fuel leak in or near the tank.) If not factory, what is it?

The air cleaner base is a 67 BB base. We had to do some modifing to get it to work for the application. Also, had to mill a little off the front of the throttle body to get it to sit right. That is what makes this shop good.
FYI, the intake/carb/MSD will be for sale if anyone is interested.

very niocely done. the Accel Gen 7 has LOTS of parameters to mess with; i've got mine driveable, whether it can be done better only a pro with a dyno can tell.

Please keep us posted on your performance gains...I have hopes to build a beefy injected 400 in the not too distant future. Yours looks like it'll go like a raped ape!

The next step is to tweak the tune when it is much warmer outside. Then off to the dyno for the final tune.

Mid-year crisis,
That is exactly what this is, a SBC 400. It ran good carberated so I am expecting improvement in both driveability and performance now that it is injected .
I will post the dyno results.

i presume you will do a baseline dyno run before the final tune. please let me know what the 'tweaked' (as found...) dyno numbers are before starting the tune & then what the numbers are after the 'final tune'.

i'd like to see what a professional can do beyond us mere mortals....
