Frame shortend for drag racing
Has anyone ever heard of shortening one side of your fame to stage the wheel closer to the line for drag racing or something to that effect? I would be interested in hearing if anyone has experience or knowledge of this sort of thing.

Move one wheel forward. Gives you more time before you redlight the start.

that's what my mechanic in Bloomington said too. I guess that accounts for that .5 inch difference. the frame has always been perfect besides that.
the wealth of collective knowledge this group has never ceases to amaze me.

Or, part of your front suspension is worn out.
I had a 101" wheel base on the drivers side and a 102" wheel base on the pass side until I rebuilt the front new with new shafts and bushings.
Now it is 102" per side

C2 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019
In 1969, we set about building a Boss 429 Mustang Super/Stock car. NHRA Pro Stock was still a year away, but we learned that the rules would eventially read such that the #1 spark plug would be even with the front axle for engine location. #1, being on the right bank of the Ford, we carefully relocated the right front suspension 1" to the rear, and moved the left 1" forward netting a 2" stagger.
There were numerous other mods that included acid dipping, but the net result was that I could leave anticipating the last yellow bulb without red-lighting. At one event, the drivers in staging behind me concluded that the staging lights were "off" and tried leaving on the last yellow.....and they all red-lighted!
Tech never discovered anything, as we also moved all of their measuring reference points. Sure made me look like a great driver!
