Where to buy 56-62 Door Hinge Nut Plate Door Side?
I just started getting ready to test fit the doors on my 56 to prepare for body work and I noticed the drivers door where the hinge arm slides into the door should have the nut plate backer with 3 nuts but mine are missing on this door.
I have looked all over and I can find the hinge plate at the body side of the hinge but not the one that goes in the top and bottom of the inside of the door to the hinge arm.
Does anyone know where to get one?

Call Grossmuellers Corvette, and talk to Carol or Eric. All they sell is 53-62 parts, and if anyone is going to have that nut plate, they will. Their number is 908-213-8832.

Curt, I have 2 friends with lots of 56/57 stuff. I'll check with them, not promising they have it, but I'll check today. One is down from NY for a week and has his stash up there. Other is a buddy with parts in FL, MD, and NY.
Just to be sure, I snapped a few pics Sec F Sheet 4 from my 56/57 AIM, and the '59+ AIMs.
Top pic is the 56/57....
There's a PLATE 4624268 (this has the 3 captive welded nuts on it.
Also the RETAINER 3724123 (This is riveted to the REINFORCEMENT to captivate the nutplate.
Do you need both parts? Same is used for Left or Right.
Bottom pic is '59 AIM. PLATE is the same but the RETAINER is different as it welds to the reinf instead of riveted. I think up to early '59 is the same as 56/57 because they used Aluminum reinforcements, then later '59 went to steel.

Curt, I spoke to one buddy, he has several doors up in NY. He'll check when he gets back next week. I haven't heard from the other local friend yet.
Joe, the nutplate isn't bad to make, kinda simple, it's the retainers. Kindof a PITA by the looks of it.

Thanks Rich. I guess if all fails I could make the nut plate and just hold it in place while I get the screws started. Not perfect but better than what I have now
