I've put close to 60 hours into the frame over the past month, maybe more, in order to make it look like a quality frame. Quite frankly, i would really like to kick the seller of this chassis square in the crotch for misrepresenting it. Again, watch out for the guy that goes by "hockey dad" on eBay.

Anyway, after the metal repairs, SPI epoxy, lots of filling of small pits, more SPI epoxy, more sanding, filler primer, and then finally eastwood extreme chassis black in satin, it finally looks pretty good.

The last two pictures are of the eastwood satin chassis black fully cured. If you can't powder-coat, this product works really well on top of epoxy or 2K filler primer.

Looking great Chris. You and your dad are going to enjoy a really nice car when you're finished.

Initially i was going to keep the car all original, but i think i will add the wilwood front disc brake upgrade and van steel semi-coil overs. Ill keep the original components boxed up just in case someone wants to put them on later.

I really like the look of the wheels on this original daytona blue 63 race car, so it might get the same treatment.

The wheels appear to be American Torq-Thrusts. If you go with front discs you might have to go with Torq-Thrust Ds to clear the calipers.

They are vintage wheel works 45 wheels. The fronts may require spacers to clear the wilwood disc brake kit. I guess we will find out sometime in the not too distant future. The powder coating should be finished on the spindles and other chassis parts soon.

You chose a great wheel; I like V45s, and they're a lot easier to find than 50-year-old TTDs.

Rich, you will be glad to know that all parts that came and were removed from your 63 are being used on this car...expansion tank bracket, all cluster *****, floor reinforcements, window tracks, washer bottle bracket, etc. and so on.
She went to the paint shop on Friday.

After almost two years, the engine is finally rebuilt. Fortunately, we were not in a rush for it! The builder misunderstood what i said about not painting the engine, so I will need to respray it with the correct orange.
I had the heads upgraded to 1.6/2.02 valves and we went with a Howards Cams hydraulic roller camshaft. I also purchased a 64-65 winters intake so I could run a quick fuel or holley carburetor instead of the AFB.

I ended up sending the "perfect" and "rust free" frame I purchased off of eBay to Roger Gress in Michigan for repairs because something just didn't look right to me. Roger is a really nice guy, but I think he is pretty much retired and therefore it took him around 5 months to repair the frame. Unfortunately, he also disregarded my request not to blast the frame and did as he wanted, which removed all my hard work of smoothing out the pits, not to mention over $300 dollars in epoxy and other materials. I didn't have it in me to do it all over again, so i just had the frame powder coated and called it a day.
