Default Paint color of front faux scoops next to grille?

What is the correct paint color for the fake scoops next to the grille? I think they are supposed to be black but is there a correct color code? Gloss or flat?
Thanks,

I have seen them painted black, but I believe they came from the factory painted body color. Mine are painted body color ('60). I have seen them painted black, but I think they look better body color. Maybe JohnZ will chime in.

I'll go the other way. I'm pretty sure they are semigloss black from the factory. I think they look very incorrect when people paint them body color.

They are black. I just refurbed these on my 61. I used Rustoleum 'satin' Black (It's in between flat and gloss).

Before:

(this is a 1-owner car - unpainted, as it came from the factory)

They were painted semi-flat black (same gloss as the underhood blackout); if you paint them body color, they reflect the ugly back side of the bumpers.

Like you get a Lowe's or Home Depot?
Did you leave the chrome top and bottom lips in and just mask as shown in your photos after removing the bumpers?
Did you spray any in the bumper gaps toward the sides or just the hole that appears as an air duct?
Thanks for your kind reply and help to everyone.
I agree that body paint is incorrect and that it must be blacked out as it is a faux air duct.
