How much should I pay??
I have found a two owner 66 vert in great condition that would look great sitting beside my C6!! The first owner sold it to help pay medical bills and the owner now is sell due to back problems keeping him from driving it. It will come with all documentation starting with window sticker to the last oil change. Mileage is in the mid 70 and all the numbers match. Its Aqua blue with a 327/4 speed and will come with a hard top also.
So, what's a fair price? Done some research online and prices seem to be everywhere.

OK, I don't mean to be a smart a$$, but it's worth whatever your comfortable with paying. To give you a better answer, we would really need pictures, is it the engine original, ever been wrecked, what other options, and "aqua"blue is not a factory color. The price will be all over the board without more info. So I'll start with 25k to 80k.

Man..that's a tough one. As you know, prices are all over the map, simply because each car is an individual on it's own.
There are a lot of good, savvy guys on this forum, but I think at the very least, you need to post as many pictures as possible. Over, under and everything in between. And of course pictures are nowhere near actually seeing the car in person.
I think if it were me, and I was truly serious, I would pay for a professional appraisal of the car. Of course the appraisal would have to be from a very solid individual who truly knows Corvettes. A few hundred bucks up front is good insurance that it's a good car....or not.
Good luck with your endeavor.

For a 66 convertible as described in aqua blue, I would pay no more than $35,000. If by chance it were Mosport Green and that matched the trim tag, I would pay $50,000. If it were Rally Red or Silver Pearl or Black and that matched the trim tag I would pay $55,000.
I sure wish that OP had neat vette valuation smart phone App guys are talking about. That would be an immense help on a question like this.

Has the color been changed or is it original color? In 66 the blues were:
Nassau Blue (a medium blue metallic)
Trophy Blue (a light blue/silver metallic)
Laguna Blue (a dark blue)
Get the paint number off the trim tag.
What options does it have? p/s, p/b, a/c, telescope, p/w?
The 66 327 came in 300hp, 350hp, that too would make a difference.
The only possible answer to how much should I pay is, depends on the car and how much do I want it. The reason the prices are all over the place is that car conditions and options are all over the place.

Nassau & Trophy Blue are very pretty colors...
Assuming all is ok with frame & Birdcage...
An un-restored Driver car with matching numbers, I'd say is in the $40-$50 Ball Park.
Here is an example
1966 Corvette Roadster - $48000 (Newport)
1966 Corvette Roadster, 327/350hp, 4-speed, both tops, teak/tele wheel, power windows, tinted glass, transistor ignition, extra set of tires/wheels available, comes with stock caps/rims, runs/drives great. Hate to sell but no place for winter storage. Pictures don't do it justice!! Will consider realistic offers. NO trades. E-mail for additional information.

You can never pay too much - you can though buy too soon.
