Hi guys, whats your opinion on a 67 427/435 restored body and frame but has had a vin plate reissue and no trim tag. It has a 67 427/390 hp motor in it. Interior needs a little help but not bad. Must have been stolen years ago and the motor taken out of it. How bad does that hurt the value. Thanks Andy

Value is for a condition of a generic, non-numbers '67 small block car with a re-issued vin and no trim tag. If a nice driver, probably 40k tops. Most here would not touch a car with a re-issued tag and missing trim plate unless it was super cheap and to be used as a driver car, only. Since you are asking about value, this car is the wrong car for that.

Thanks, that's what turned me off about it even though it was pretty clean.

Yes,there was no mention of a vin reissue in the craigslist add. Took a good friend with me and he believes its a real 435 car.

I saw the car myself, drives very good with the 5 speed.

Has the correct fuel line for a BB

Underside of car was all redone 10 years ago and still looks good.

It needs odds and ends as do most 50 year old cars .

This 61 restomod just sold for 46k in ebay on Nov. 8

A dealer- Velocity Motor Sports in Valley Park, MO is looking to make a tidy profit of 17k as they've put it back in ebay with a buy it now of 63k.

That dealer frequents Mecum, B-J and Leake auctions buying lower end cars and then listing them for $8-20K more on ebay. If they don't sell after a couple of months, he dumps them at a different auction company. He bought a 70 Challenger here at Mecum in Dallas in September and now has it listed at the Leake this week. He bought a couple of cars at Leake here in Dallas last November and dumped them at Russo and Steele and B-J (early in the week) in January. Sometimes he does well, sometimes he doesn't.

I probably would have tried to buy it but the vin issue is a deal breaker for me.

This car appears to be a really good deal. I'm not in the market, but if anyone wants me to look at it for them I'll be in the Minneapolis area this weekend.
