Wire mes air fliter
Anybody know where I can get a wire mesh air filter like this or similar, but 5 inches diameter? It would need to slip over a 5 inch diameter ring. It wouldn't have to be dome shaped. I'm willing to buy or have one made.

You'd have to make a ring to attach something like these:

I believe that you can probably request some free sample wire mesh from manufacturers:
Try http://www.bwire.com for more details on woven wire mesh.
As far as wrapping a ring, you can probably just make a loose flexible ring - slide the mesh in, then slide it into some type of press to smash this binder into place around the wire mesh.

Darn
I was out at the Pomona swap Meet and a guy had twin fly eye filters right out of the 1960's for like tunnel rams or fuel injectors on aa table for sell (don't know what he was asking!). I could probably find these in one of my old speed shop catalogs. i could at the next meet, go back out to see if that setup shows up again!
