Chris;

What Nardi wheel are you using? Can you post pictures?

I have a 15 inch Nardi wheel that looks good and has the right dimensions. It is just not one that bolts up to a 1964 corvette.

I have power steering. I'll check and see what Ecklers has.

Not a fan of the smaller wheels at all...this came on my split window from the seller....I sent it back to him ASAP and installed a nice repro until I get the original wheel restored (someday)

I agree that is too small.

15 inch is just about right.

Yeah plus the car has no power steering so the smaller wheel didn't help that one bit.

And, it reminded me too much of this (I got one in Christmas of 1960)...IIRC

Frankie - We're all wondering how long you had that before you started taking it apart

This is a Personal wheel I put in my '73 back in the late 80's. The look and feel is so much better than the original. The horn button on the other hand is a Nardi.

Without Tilt-Tele, it really makes getting in and out of the car so much easier. And for me it doesn't block the Speedometer and Tach.

Another option...

Install an Ididit tilt steering column, with installation kit and Nardi steering wheel adapter, and horn kit.

That would give me a black power coated steering column, allow me to use my Nardi steering wheel, and also give me tilt capability.

I can do all of this for less than $1K.

Unless I can find some sort of adapter for my Nardi wheel, or a Nardi wheel specifically designed for a C2 Corvette, this may be my best option.

Ed, you might want to give Personal a call (or email), I believe their adapters will accommodate both the Personal and Nardi wheels.

I believe that Nardi and Personal and have either merged or one has bought the other out. It's been years since I had to purchase an adapter, but when I bought the one for my '73, it would accommodate a Nardi back then as well.

The steering wheel i posted pictures of comes most likely from a Alfa Romeo or somother 1970`s Euorpean car

The center of this steering wheel had a lot of holes drilles thru the years so i changed the center of the steering wheel where where the dotted red lines are and off course drilled the Corvette steering wheel pattern holes

OK Roger, thanks. That makes sense now. I will figure something out.

I don’t care as much how the steering wheel looks as I do how it feels with hands in proper driving position and how functional it feels when the fingers slide around the steering wheel when making sharp turns on the street or parking lots. I’ve not driven with a flat top steering wheel so I don’t know how it feels in actual street use.

That was gonna be my guess as well. I looked at an optional wheel from Nardi back in 1967 when I bought my 1963. They were a bit out of my price range back then, but I don't remember exactly what the price was. I settled for an aftermarket wooden shift **** instead, I had a pretty low price range at that time . . . . .

Try a Grant # 930 steering wheel. Direct bolt on.

I had a look at Nardis hompage and there are a lot of steering wheels to choose from.

looking at the pattern for the screws for fastening the steering wheel it looks just like the pattern used on Corvettes

I must say that i like these types of steering wheels

Most like this wooden wheel i am sure

Think i would go for this steering wheel in black perforated leather and with aluminum spokes that is not to "shiny"

This old thread needs a update
I am pretty sure that i have found out which car this steering came from
The steering wheel in my first post is pictured below
Look at the steering wheel in the 1967 Maserati Sebring Series II at the bottom picture. The steering wheels for sure looks identical

Note that i have cut out the center in the steering wheel and welded in a a center with the Corvette pattern for the screws that attach the steering wheel to the steering column

The steering wheel i have laying on the shelf and the steering wheel in the 1967 Maserati Sebring Series II must be the same type?

This is the steering wheel that came with my Corvette when i bought it back in 1993

The steering wheel in this 1967 Maserati Sebring Series II looks identical to the one i have

Here is a picture of the 1967 Maserati Sebring Series II

Before I realized that this was a 6 year old thread, I was going to post. Since the OP updated it, I will post anyway. My initial thought was 'Italian' and probably a Nardi, and definitely from the 1960's to very early '70's due to the thin rim and style. I think you nailed it, Saint. The fact that the car is in Europe and had a classy wheel swapped in back in the day is totally normal. I for one would run it on the car. It's very elegant.

Here is the Nardi Classic wood steering wheel on my 64 Vette. It is approximately 15 inches in diameter. It is specifically 390mm (15.35 inches). I polished the Nardi name off of the wheel.

These wheels comes in a variety of sizes, but for our purposes the 330mm (12.99 inches), 360mm (14.17 inches) and 390mm (15.35 inches) are the most likely choices.

They are not that expensive used on Ebay and other sites. You also need the Chevrolet / GM steering wheel adapter or hub that allows this wheel to be mounted to a Chevrolet car (like my 64 Corvette).
