Default 66 backup wires.

I am installing a 5 sp Tremec this week (hopefully), the 66 had a Hurst shifter installed, who knows when! My problem is I can't fine the wires running to the backup lights, any suggestions?
Thanks, Culley

There's a two pin connector just below the master cylinder and slightly toward the center of the car. One wire is pink and one is green. Those two wires go to the backup light switch on the transmission. When in reverse, that switch shorts those two wires together to light your reverse lights. The actual wires to the backup lamps run in the harness. If they currently work, you only have to work with the wires at the transmission switch to make them work with your new transmission.
