You need SOMETHING to hold the VIN Tag on…………….

Maybe they ran out of rosette rivets that day.

That does not look anything like a factory vin tag or rivets. Dennis

If the precision spent on the tag and it's fastening is typical of the precision used in the restoration, I would not simply be concerned about the car's authenticity.

Its been relisted under a different seller, and they are not posting a photo of the vin tag.

Without due diligence someone will buy that car and sooner or later the VIN issue will resurface and that will be a very huge problem

I asked the seller for a picture of the vin tag.

The seller did knock off $24,000.00 to make up for the round rivets.

That's only $12,000 per rivet. The tag has to be worth $12,000 all by itself.

This calls into question all of the paperwork too. Any of which can all be purchased from ads in Hemmings including aged documents.

Makes finding a real car that much harder. I suggest anyone buying an old corvette, post photos and any other info. for members to look at. The combined knowledge here is awesome. Unfortunately not every buyer is aware of this Forum, some find the Forum after they have found issues...still good.

And can be detected as phony just like the VIN/TRIM tag
