I'm not aware of any location where a "seat belt cable" (whatever that is) goes through a hole in the frame - could you be more specific about the location?

Me either. I did witness a '66 coupe body hanging from a lift while the frame was pulled out from underneath supported only by the outboard seat belts.
Hard to believe. I know it sounds like a fable but there it was supported by 2 seat belts with the cables coming out the door windows.
Saw the car afterwards and no damage.

Your seat belt reinforcements are metal angle brackets are riveted to the underside of the body and they have cables that are attached to the frame. The outside brackets, driver and passenger have separate cable for each side and those cables hang through the frame and attach - bolt to the underside of the frame with 7/16” bolts. The center two brackets have a single cable that loops through the frame cross member.

Hope this will help you. I will post the assembly page tomorrow,

The duplex center cable is not attached to the angle metal body mounts.

The outside cable is hanging through the frame next to the lift arm pad.

Ok, I know it's been a long time but In have an excuse. My 57 Nomad took priority because it is closest to being done. But the Corvette will happen soon because my wheels are almost done.

If you mean the Corvette I decided to go with the original Bahama Blue (or whatever you call it). It will cost not much more to go with paint instead of just primer. But I'm not there yet so let's see when the time comes.

You have good tastes, I bet it will be cool in that color!

I don’t come on C1/C2 very often anymore. I was reading your thread to caught up! I am glad to see you are still passionate about the car!

Thx GV, not quite fully recovered but not stopping either. I need to come back to this forum more often, it inspires me to get back on it sooner then I planned.

As I understand it these were called the Beltline Thumper Flares. I was told by a few friends that were around this stuff daily back in the day. Boy, this Back in the Day sure seems like a magical time to those of us who were not quite old enough to know what was going on.
