What finish did the 65 door hinges have when installed, i.e. prior to body color? Mine are black in the areas where there is no body color. My 65 Judging Guide says there should be traces of zinc-chromate primer (yellow-green in color) visible.
If you mean door hinges then the answer is body color. Deep in the pockets I would say you can see the green zinc chromate primer
Sorry for not being specific. You are right, I was talking about the door hinges. From comments I have received over on the NCRS Forum, looks like AO Smith cars were green zinc chromate and St Louis cars were black in the areas where the body color did not reach.

Thanks for your input.
Agree at least with the Black paint on the door hinges of St Louis build cars. That was was what my 63 had on them in areas that body color could not reach.
When I ordered my White C7 I was the first white one in my Corvette Club and one of the firsts down here in SW Florida. I'm looking at the C8 and configure it in white, red calipers, interior and looks like getting one of them will be just like when I got my C7. They'll be all over the place like popcorn!! Guess I'll have to pick another color.
