I'm located in N.C. and need a recommendation for someone that can service the radio from my '67. Can anyone help?

Jerry Rudbeck of ElectroDesign (http://www.electrodesign.us/contactus.htm) did mine back in 2010 and it's still going strong. He's located in South Carolina. Great guy but I don't know if he's still taking work - try giving him a call.

Robert Pacini restored the AM/FM/CB radio and splitter for my '80. He "tweaked and peaked" it too...plays better than new AND included a MP3 jack. Works great! Nice, honest guy. Was very, very reasonable.

I don't know the problem with the radio, but if you are getting no sound out of the speaker, it may just be the speaker. Have you pulled it out?? You can hook the speaker up to your house stereo and see if it works. You can bypass the impedance coil for the test as it protects the radio, not the speaker.
If the speaker works, then it requires further investigation of the radio and impedance coil by a technician that knows old electronics. The output transistor is known to give up the ghost if the impedance coil goes south.
I was lucky, I hooked up the radio to an 8 ohm speaker with the impedance coil in parallel and the radio worked. Rebuilt the original speaker for $50 and everything works as well as new (not up to todays standards, but new 1966 standards).

I had Jerry rebuild my radio two years ago. He does a fantastic job and is very informative on what he had to do to the radio for repairs. He even returns the parts that he replaced when he sends your unit back. I also had him install an MP3 connection in my radio. He is very easy to work with and is reasonably priced for the work that he does.

I also used Jerry to do a 1967 Corvette AM/FM stock radio and he did a great job. He also added an MP3 jack as well. Great guy and if he's still doing them his work is fast, as well as excellant.. I know he told me he's taking some time off so not sure he's doing them now.

Jerry has done several radios with a MP3 jack for me. 100% satisfied. None better.

Ah, found you. The above was almost correct Joe. You received the auto response that I hadn't turned off; that wasn't the real me.

Look in your spam folder or trash and you'll find the details and the 'OK to ship' response I sent you at 10PM eastern last night. If it's not there, yahoo struck again. Horrible email provider!

Val and I are taking one final batch of radios before we shut things down for a while. The radio work has become too confining for a couple of old retirees with wanderlust.

_Jerry_

PS: Regards and thanks to my friends above - holler if your sets ever quit.
