C1 gas pedal mis aligned
Anybody also have this? The pedal is aligned to the right of the lever and slips off to the right. I must drive using the lever without the pedal. I don't think the pedal pivot bracket is adjustable. Am I wrong?
Is the bracket the pedal attaches to adjustable? 1960
One of my last little pet peeves I need to fix.

I tried moving the plastic piece to the left to give it more coverage on the lever without success. My next step is to add another larger piece, but not happy about how it would look.

Having the same problem with my '61. I replaced the pedal, same result. Mine keeps pulling off of the mounting pegs at the bottom of the pedal. Only when I floor it. Thinking about replacing the ball studs with through bolts or something like that to keep the pedal in place.

I had the same problem with my 62 even after replacing all parts from the carburetor linkage on back.
Since I'm not stock I replaced it with a Lokar system. No pedal problem and more comfortable position of the pedal.

You might try extending the ball stud by using a barrel nut and then all thread, that elevates the ***** to where the the base of the gas pedal is further off of the carpet and any extra insulation you might add. The gas pedal may want to twist one way or the other depending upon lay on carpet and where the gas pedal hits it.
Clear as mud, eh?

Does this link mean I simply need to purchase a 59 pedal?
Please decipher!

You'll have to draw your own conclusions Larry. I just stumbled across this while searching for a different article on C1 gas pedal and ball stud fixes and so I posted it. Drives me nuts as I know I've seen another piece on the problem you're having at some point but I cannot find it

The NCRS people will turn there backs and under their breath will be asking, has the pedal man left yet?

Duh, I think I figured it out.
After reading the article it clearly explains that the flap on a 60 is the problem. 59 didn't have a flap.
I'll cut the flap off.

That's funny as heck, but really, I'm spending some time on the NCRS forum now and, with a few exceptions, those guys aren't nearly as **** as many think. I've posted suggestions for things to get members cars going that aren't in the JG and there was no projectile vomiting. Just posted info about adjustable vac advance cans that was well received and the recipients appreciated it - try to find those on an original C1/C2...
Likewise I've picked up a lot of good info too...
Duke Williams over there is just a stellar source of all kinds of C1/C2 information and he's adult and non-contentious in his postings....very refreshing...

Anybody can go on for a trial and see what it's about without paying the dues. You just can't post.
Many nice people and many that post here and there. The fanatics are few, but they are there.

I had all brand new parts from the carb to the sole of my shoe...and scrapped everything but the pedal.
I changed the angle of the pedal on the floor, to where it was more comfortable to me.
Then I used pedal assembly from a later Corvette that had the cable to the carb..rather than a linkage rod.
I bent the inside lever a couple of times till it fit properly against the stock relocated pedal...and tapered the linkage end next to the pedal where it slides up and down on the back of the pedal...like a stock C1. All is well now...and it looks perfectly stock on the carpet.

This picture is from eight years ago, I now have different engine but the lower half of the assembly for the accelerator is in the same location. It is what appears to be shiny in between the exhaust pipe and oil filter.
Lokar parts are, pedal FMG-6098, 36" cable DP-1000HT, matching brake & clutch pedals bag 6136 pair, also spacer 6016 which I don't have but just ordered one, thinking maybe it should be on there.
Shop around on line for best price.
I would use the same pedal system again.
