What got you started on the Corvette addiction? Then and Now Pictures for me.
I was a Senior in High School ('78) and actually went to the Library and read every article I could on the upcoming Indy 500 Race to be Paced by the 1978 Corvette...it was the Silver leather interior that struck me as amazing. Just a few months later (July 26th 1978) I started selling Corvettes and the rest is history (over 3,500 Sold so far). I have owned 15 Corvettes over the years including ... In no particular order '59, '61, 3 '88s, 2 '92's, '93, '99, 2 '05's, 2 '06's , '14 Z51 and now a '15 Z06 Cpe. Our kids have been pictured in front of many of my 44 Musclecars and 15 Corvettes that I have owned over the years but it still doesn't beat my wife's involvement with Corvette's. Included below are pics of her parents in their 1957 Corvette on Daytona Beach when my Mother in Law was pregnant in 1960 with my wife. Enjoy some of the pictures from years ago and feel free to share pics and stories of what got you started Driving America's #1 Sports Car. 38 yrs of selling Corvettes and the ride has been great, hope you enjoyed what I shared from the past many decades of my Corvette involvement.
~My wife's parents and their 1957 that he bought in 1958 and put 105,000 miles on it in 4 years! He also owned a 61 and a 75 back in the day.
~The Corvette that started my addiction...1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car.
~My first Corvette...1959 Dual carbs.
and then my 61 with dual carbs...
~Our son in the '61...reminds me of his Mothers picture in their '57!
-Our son and daughter on top of my '88 35th Anniv #131.
~My brother and I over 25 years ago in my '59. RIP
~I have had Zora Autographs many times in person back in the day...
~Won several National Corvette Sales Contests which won me trips to Lemans in France.
~Always have had great Corvette inventory to sell from...
~Visited with many Corvette customers
...and they have visited with me for decades...
~Had a Boston Corvette customer invite me to Fenway Park for a Red Sox game and he had my name put on the scoreboard in the middle of the 5th!
and I watched my 1967 442 W-30 go across the Blocks at Barrett Jackson.
~I certainly have kept Plycon Trucking busy over the years..
~Pictured with my 8,000 mile '92.

~Even delivered a New '15 Stingray Z51 on a Bravo TV Show to some reality stars.
~Delivered a ton of Special Signature editions...
...and watched as Eddie Murphy took delivery of 10 Corvettes for he and his entourage.
~Been inside the Corvette Plant and Museum many times.
...and set up Hundreds of Corvette Museum deliveries for my Customers...but never my own, YET ...even though I am a Lifetime Member and an Ambassador for the Museum!
~Will some day own a '63 Split Window...are you listening GM???
~I currently own this 2015 Z06 Cpe in Laguna Blue.

Wow - great post!
I can't compete with the pics - who could? But here's my story:
It was 1963, I was 14 years old. My 8th grade Spanish teacher was a 30 something drop dead gorgeous blonde named Mrs. Goddard. I was already in "love" with her.............. then one day she showed up with a silver '63 SWC - now I was infatuated twice over!
Then I saw the magazine articles about the Grand Sports..........
I had to wait til I got out of college in '71 to get my '67, have had it and other Corvettes for 44 years now!
So - it's not a "mid life crisis" in my case!

Good stories...
I rode home from the hospital at age 2-days in my Dads 61. I was about 3 years old in this photo:
The car was eventually parked in 1985.. and sat for 30 years. It was not in good shape.
Here is me and my son at Plastic Fantastic show in San Diego, 2 years into our "rolling restoration".
Same car! Original Paint!

I bought my '61 when I was junior in HS, in 1974. Paid $500 for it from a Corvette/hotrod junkyard in Helena, MT.
I still have it, but it looks better,a nd runs better with the 427 small block vs the used 307 I first put in it.
I picked up teh '72 almost 5 years ago, it is NCRS material,a nd an original AZ car.
I will be picking up my new Long Beach red Z06 this week.

Awesome pictures and memories Mike!!
The '78 Pace car was huge for me too...I was 12 at the time and we went to the Chevy dealership so my Dad could buy a new truck! I remember the Pace car and the Silver Anniversary car sitting in the showroom and drooling all over them!! I thought the silver interior was out of this world too...It just seemed like a space ship inside! It was awesome!
Here's a photo from the day I bought my Pace car and was driving her home...
One of my Dad's friends had a '66 big block convertible back when I was around 6 years old and I loved that car from the moment I first saw it...He had let it got to pot since the motor had seized, and even though it was sitting in his driveway with 4 flat tires, it was absolutely the sexiest, coolest car I had ever seen in my life!!
Here's my '66 BB conv, also during the drive home trip...
My first Corvette was a '72 coupe that I got when I was 17, and was the one that started my path of Corvette ownership...It's a thousand wonders that I didn't kill myself in that car!! Boy do I wish I had it back!!
I love the old cars, but I just had to get a C6 Z06 after hearing so many great things about the cars!! I love the new C7 Z06, but I still think this one will always be a keeper!!
You can definitely see that my early formative years has definitely played a huge part in the cars which I've chosen to buy...I think it's like that for all of us, isn't it??!!

Drifting
My Dad's 1963 Fuelie
Dad ordered his '63 in late '62, around my 2nd birthday.
Sebring silver/black, FI, PB, PW.
One of my friends and I logged many exciting miles packed away like sardines into the area behind the seats where the top stowed - we called it "the dungeon"

I never even sat behind the wheel of a Corvette until 1985 when my Dad traded in a tri-power big block and I got to wring it out some.
We were way too poor when I was younger to even consider one and in a family of 5 it was impractical...when I was old enough to drive and earn money my folks weren't footing the insurance bill for a kid with one of those fiberglass 'death traps' either. I just stumbled across my '61 when I got the bug back in 2006 and bought it. It's eventually grown on me...
Sorry, no life-long love of the breed in my past but I appreciate those stories from others!
