66 Vette Turn Signal Flasher LocationQuestion
I'm in the process of converting my tail lights to LED and need to install the appropriate flasher that goes with the LED kit. Problem.....I can't find the factory flasher under the dash. The fuse box has a position at the top right but no flasher was installed ( Hope Bubba didn't work his magic wiring prior!). The turn signals work fine with the factory bulbs! Please inform me where the factory location of the turn signal flasher was located....thanks in advance for your input!

If you read your owners manual you will find the flasher clips on the driver dude radio side panel up towards the dash

However sometimes people don't put the flasher in the radio panel clip or the clip has been removed or lost. Then you will find most people push the wire connector and flasher up over the radio panel and let it hand inside the panel compartment where the radio is. If you can't find the flasher, remove the driver side radio panel and look behind it, the flasher will be hanging in there somewhere

The '66 turn signal flasher position, plug & mounting clip is shown in the photo below. Tung-Sol 224 (plastic, late car) is shown. The 224 will likely not work for your LED "upgrade". Due to the much lower resistance introduced into the circuit, the standard flasher may sense low current & behave like you have a burned out (incandescent) bulb. An LED-compatible flasher with two-prong configuration is probably required. Maybe others who do such mod(s) can provide a source.

LED flasher
Just a point , most LED flashers have the polarity reversed. Unless it specifically states that it is automatically reversing, you need to buy an adapter socket that reverses the polarity or just switch wires in corvette flasher plug

Hi, well I hope my post will help, one thing, if you plug in a LED flasher and it doesn’t work, reversing the plug wires will fix the problem.
I have a flasher that has a speed control that allows you to set the rate of flashing. The funny thing is that it doesn’t click...no clicking of flasher..just blinking of turn indicator lights.
