of the distributor tach drive. A photo would be appreciated, I know there will be variations based on timing. Trying to set up new to me dual point distributor.

On my '62 340 HP car, and all the others I've seen, the tach drive faces the firewall. Not at an angle, but straight on. From that position, the timing is done. Timing will only change the angle slightly. The tach cable will go straight into the hole in the firewall for it. I'm not sure how the distributor is positioned on 360 HP cars ("fuelies") where the hole in the firewall for the cable is slightly off to the side.
