Default Transmission yoke length?

Hey guys,

Quick question or three. Can anyone tell me the length of the drive shaft yoke that goes into a manual transmission of a '64 and the length of the section the slips into the housing? Also, how far should the yoke slip into the tail shaft housing? I have a little movement in mine but if I disconnect the drive shaft and move the yoke about 1/2 inch into the housing the movement is greatly reduced. Just curious if the yoke is wrong. I believe the drive shaft is the correct length, 30" centered on the u-joint caps? Thanks for any info offered.

Corvette yokes spline section are approximately 4 3/4 inches long and passenger yokes lengths are 3 1/2 inches long.

Tracy,
that is a symptom of wear on the yoke in the area that rides on the trans bushing.
I had mine metalized and ground back to size.
