Default C1 hood question

Hello, can anyone tell me if a 1958 hood is a direct fit for a 1962?

Yes, if it is not an early 58. Early 58 hood prop was on the right. Rest of 58 through 62 had hood prop on right. All of them fit the same hood opening, though.

the 58 hood is a one year only in that it has the "Washboard" louvers. The 59-62 do not. There may be other minor differences but this is the most obvious.

It won't fit without modifying the hood, the '58 hood won't clear the top center radiator bracket on a '62.

The issue is very apparent in this picture '58 far left '61/'62 far right.

and, looking at Frank's picture, you can see how easy it would be to notch the front of the food reinforcement. cut it out, flip it over and glass it back in....

The simple answer appears to me to be "No, it is not a direct fit".
