Is this the same 1954 Corvette #430 that was recently parted out on EBay? Got this out of Noland Adams book.....

The arrogance of the boneheads that part out perfectly good, irreplaceable historic items always astounds me. They die off after a time, but history is lost forever. Selfish, arrogant SOB's....

Here is Vin # 4611 so it was 39 from the last as a 54 Corvette BUT the history will live on in this car because it has been changed to the 1954

If nobody is willing to pony up 30K, 40K, etc. to buy the car as a project, one can sell off the parts for probably much more.
The value of the "sum of the parts" is greater than the value of the entire car.
Sad, but true.

From a purely business standpoint, it makes sense.
If nobody is willing to pony up 30K, 40K, etc. to buy the car as a project, one can sell off the parts for probably much more.

parts sold added up to approximately $70,000. shipping cost were also high, so there was probably some money made there. the seller appears to have done well parting out the car.

If someone on here knows Noland or his email address maybe he can make a correction the next time the book is printed.

I finished my 54 build with a lot of parts from the Texas company that specializes in original parts. Cost me lots of $$$ to get the correct parts. When I tried to sell it, this company contacted me wanting to buy it............to disassemble and resell!! I couldn't do it after all the money and work I put into it. Just goes to show that they are worth more for parts than they are all restored. I wish I knew where it is now, maybe I could re-buy it.

Where did you get that figure ?????? the car is/was owned by my cousin - I bought over 1/3 of the parts - the body and frame are unsold which I am trying to buy - total parts sold is WAY WAY south of that number

total came from auction results which can still be found by going to the sellers "sold" listings. (aside from the body, which was listed sold at 4600 and later relisted for $8000). name any item on the car and I can give you the price it sold for. if the parts you purchased were not purchased through the ebay auction, then if I were you I would not mention it. from the list I have, all parts on the car were accounted for. having bid on many items, I would not look kindly on finding out that the seller did not go through with a third of the final bids when all items were listed as sold. just looked up the frame and it should have been sold for $1525
