Default Where to buy stock repo wheels for a '61?

My wheel lug holes are enlarged and I would like to purchase some stock repo wheels with the nubs for the hubcaps. They do not have to be dated or NCRS. Where can I buy some? Thanks!

wheel Viintiques, If I spelled it right, they even have wider versions if you check wheels for tri-fives. Chip google it

I purchased mine from ZIP Corvette three years ago with no regrets; they came finished in semigloss black and have the correct "nubs" to retain the wheelcovers.

Since your wheels do not need to be NCRS correct, search all the sources and swap meets for 55-56 pass car wheels. They will be TONS CHEAPER than "Corvette" wheels. ALLLLLLLLLLL 55-56 pass car wheels are 15x5 and have the 4 nubs to retain the 56-62 style full wheel covers. I realize that even 55-56 pass car wheels are becoming rather scarce, but frequently you can pick up 1-2 wheels at a swap meet cheap---------------------DON'T TELL THEM ITS FOR A CORVETTE!!!

Once on the car, only the most experienced and knowledgeable NCRS judge will know the difference between a 55-6 pass car wheel and a Vette wheel. The 55 wheels are riveted and the 56 wheels are welded-----------and usually have the dogbones.

A 55 is on the left, 56 is on the right.

55-riveted

56-welded

Required nubs for full wheel cover.

As stated above, Wheel Vintiques has both reproduction C1 wheels (65 series) that are 15X5 (claim will not work with disc brakes), and Tri-Five wheels (67 series). Their sales rep confirmed the dimples are identical on both lines of wheels. The intriguing part of the Tri-Five wheels is that they come in 15X6 and 15X7 versions, and they claim they will work with most disc brake kits. It provides a nice option for disc brake upgrades and/or wider width tires for those that want to keep the factory hubcaps.

I've got spares here but not 4 of any one kind. I've got 3 dog bone welded, 2 welded, and 2 riveted?

Can someone tell me exactly what my 62 Vette came with of those 3? Over the years a lot of tri fives and vettes have had their original wheels lost along the way someplace. I think most of mine are trifive but can't be sure. :shrug2:

If they re RPO 276 wide wheels (15 x 5 1/2) they are riveted. Otherwise the common 62 wheels were welded.

PS Another source for C-1 wheels is George Stelzer aka Vettewheelman on Ebay.

Off the top of my head I think without the dog bones.

Thanks for that pic. Now....when did they switch from the large base valve stem to the small one?
