Default Power Steering Pivot Bolt

Inquiring to find out if anyone would know the length and size of the power steering pivot bolt for a 66 BB. I am unable to get the power steering pump to stay tight and believe the threads on the bolt are stripped.

Thanks

Well take your striped bolt and go to your local hard ware store and get a new bolt

If I remember correctly, big block power steering pumps mount like small blocks with the pivot bolt secured by a nut, lock washer and flat washer on the back of the lower bracket. Take a look at your AIM, it's UPC N40, sheet A7 in the '67 AIM.

I wanted to have new bolt in hand when removing the old bolt to save time and aggravation. Thanks for the information, will remove and go get a new bolt.

Are you sure the bolt is stripped? The pivot bolt is secured with a loose nut (not welded to bracket), lock washer and flat washer. If you don't hold the nut with a wrench, you probably aren't torquing it properly.

I've tightened/torqued this twice it gets lose and then the alternator is not charging the battery. I have to take it apart and check the bolt. Thanks for the information.
