1963 327 340 hp value vs 300 hp
Wondering what the CF thinks. Hagerty price guide has average value at $46,300 for 300 hp and $56,400 for 340 hp for the '63 Roadster. All things being equal except the engine, do the 340 hp cars bring that big of premium (18%) over the 300 hp cars? The 250 hp is $45,200, which seems on the high side to me. Thank you for your input.

I have the grocery-getter 250hp in my split window, but the venerable 270hp in my '61.
The transition to a higher-revving, solid lifter motor is pretty dramatic; the sound, the feel; the punch off the line. That is worth a premium to nearly everyone. I can't say its worth $10K but it might well be to some... The disparity between the 250hp and 300hp seems about right to me as they are both base-style, low-rpm, hydraulic-lifter mills. The 250hp is sorta of a rare motor in a 63 too. Both the low hp motors are desirable to some as the feeling is they weren't raced to death or abused - may be true, or not.
