Steroid Power Steering for 62 Vette
I'm looking into putting Power steering on my 62 vette. Has anyone put one of the steroid Power steering units on a 62. What can you tell me about the installation and what would be needed other than watching the kit.
How has it performed, what about road feel?

C2 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019
Couple of years ago I drove a '62 with the Steeroids conversion. I didn't care for it.
Out on the hiway at speed, I had to fight constantly with the steering to keep the vehicle in the lane. It wanted to go every direction but straight.
In fairness, I don't know if the owner of the '62 had bothered to reset the toe-in after installing the Steeroids system. If he hadn't and if the wheels were actually toeing out, the car would wander like I experienced.
Still, I didn't like the one experience I had with a C1 which had been converted to Steeroids. I won't be adding it to my '60.
YMMV

2023 C2 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I'm not sure my response will be helpful, because it involves my C2 and not a C1. I installed a Steeroids R&P on my '66 about 8 years ago (already had power steering). I did it in my garage with the car up on jack stands over a weekend. Install was very straightforward with no surprises. Just unbolted the old one and bolted up the new one to existing holes in the frame; no cutting, welding or drilling necessary. I used the recommended adjustments to get the car aligned enough to drive it to have it professionally aligned.
The end result was much better handling with great road feel and zero wandering. Bottom line is this was one of the best upgrades to my C2 and I'm glad I installed it.
