Default 67 coupe BIG BLOCK or SMALL BLOCK ?

Good morning,
I've found a 67 Coupe that was stored
on jackstands under a screened in porch since 1987..
nice car...
question though please fellow Corvette lovers:

big block hood
hood support drivers side
60 psi oil
rear sway
6200rpm red line (327/350hp??)

currently sporting a 396 block with 427/435 heads

my question: born a small block or big block?
My thoughts had been if not a 80psi oil gauge, then small block

and I lean to a L79.....

Default BB or SB ???

Sounds like it could have been a 390 or 400 HP big block if it has the 60 pound oil pressure gauge and the sway bar. The tach redline should actually be 6000 for the 350 hp 327 and both hydraulic lifter big blocks. Check the metal fuel line at the fuel pump and the way the rear half shafts are connected to the rear end--those are 2 things that are also different BB to SB. The half shafts on a BB are connected to the rear end with caps & bolts while on the SB they are connected with u-bolts and nuts. The fuel line according to what I've heard is supposed to be bent at 90 degrees near the fuel pump, but mine is more like 110 degrees--and I know my car is an original BB---I've owned it for 42 years.

Does the trim tag indacate a St Louis body or A O Smith body Lots of other clues to look for. But without real GM paper work everything is just a guess

Check the installation of the hood support bracket in the wheel well, also check the passenger side for signs of this bracket.

don't see any hint of a support being mounted on passenger side of hood.
the portion of the car where the bottom part of the support also does not look like one had been mounted, although the two dimples for mounting are there...

It has a BB radiator. Appears to have patina so if typical BB signs are there, that's probably what it started life with.

What a great find! Beautiful color scheme, especially on a coupe.

From the limited pictures, it sure looks like it started as a 390 or 400 car. The tank sticker would be a huge bonus.

That car is too cool to restore, I would get it running and address any safety issues, then drive it as-is.

Regardless of the original engine you have a desirable color combo

yes, great color combo..
I'll get her home and get her running...

get the old gas out of the tank, blow the lines,
pre-oil the engine, and hope to start her up...

the gas tank isn't bad, not rusty, not gunky,
