how to remove bezel from 63 clock in my..64
I apparently have a 63 clock (with the aluminium cone) in my 64. After some work I got it working just fine. Still I need to take the bezel off to clean the plastic lens from scratches and repaint the bezel. However, the bezel seems to be fixed to the chassis with small 'rivets' (the 3 times 2 small dots on the picture). How do I get the chassis off? And how do I get it back on if it takes removing the rivets?

You will make yourself miserable trying to drill out those **** ant rivets and then trying to replace them, and, possibly wreck the piece...tape off the lens, clean and paint the bezel -- when completely dry, tape off the bezel and polish the lens. Use blue painter's quick release tape....
Two steps, done -- no damage...

Hi, I had asked Frank to say hello to some friends from the Corvette Club of France. They had hosted me on my Euorpean trips. They are scouting the route for the clubs trip to the US in March 2017.
The couple scouting are flying into Maimi, driving to the keys , then north to Orlando etc. Tomorrow they land, and will leave 28th
They would like to meet corvette owners for advice on trip. Please pm if you would like to show them you car and events, leading to trip to NCM Bowling Green next year.
Others please pm me if you live along the route to Orlando from the keys, and want to be good US owners, great for contacts should you go to France on vacation

I have been reading all the replies regarding the clock bezel on a 63 corvette, because I have a new bezel and want to replace it with a new one. My question is, how do you remove the old bezel? There is nothing wrong, but cosmetically it needs to be replaced. The new one should match the old bezel. Thank you in advance. I hope you will forgive me for butting in on this group. Best, Lewis

You are not butting in, we welcome questions like that and somebody here will have an answer for you I'm sure. Most likely, though, the mods will close this 3-year old thread and suggest you start a brand new one.

If you have a new question, it’s best to start a new thread rather than respond to posts in a 3 year old thread. It won’t be seen by many.
