Newbie question ahead:
Is the result of the CCTech calculator supposed to match the build date on the Trim tag exactly?
Thanks for posting!

Nope. This calculator is an approximation ONLY. My car's birthday is out by 2 days. So it's gonna be close, but don't count on it being exact. Bill

Can’t speak to the accuracy of the CCTech calculator but most calculators give (estimate) the car’s production date or the date it came off the line. The trim tag date is the date the body was built which may be a day before to several weeks before the production date for AO Smith bodies.

This tool gives the same day (Nov 14 1960) for my 61 as the one on C1registry... Not sure if they are using the same algorithm???

I just used their calculator and by punching in the "SN" of my car and going backwards in numbered sequence found that my car was the 4th car built that week...

My '66 Coupe trim tag gives March 10 while the calculator says March 15, so they are in the right order...
I checked and March 10 was a Monday and March 15 a Saturday... which I believe is not possible as the workweek has been Monday-Friday nationwide since 1940 (if wikipedia is accurate).

The calculator hit my '64's Convertible's birthday dead on - November 5, 1963.

My trim tag shows Feb 24th as does the calculator. But again that is just the body, and the 24th was on a Friday. So my thinking was always Monday Feb 27th? Kind of neat as that's my Sons birthday! Only 22 years before!
Again, just a approximation!

Pretty neat. I just entered our 1964 VIN (02449) and got a build date of Oct. 10, 1963 (exact same birthday as my wife, only the wife is a few years younger)
I know the original sell / delivery date was Oct 21 1963 at Felix Chevrolet in Los Angeles. Those two dates seem pretty close together, but from the original owners daughter, her mom ordered the car, it was supposed to be a 1963 air conditioned convertible. It came in as a 1964 without air, but she bought it.
I know I don't spend much time in this section, hardly any spare time anymore for "relaxing".

for the most part I always check and see when my Corvettes were built or came off the production line and I have been doing this for years. That being said I find that the dates calculated are pretty much dead nuts on. My newest 67 shows it was built on Nov. 8, 1966 so it has a birthday coming up soon. I think I will fill it full of gas and clean it up, inside and out and take it out for a little cruise weather permitting. Just to kind of roll the tires around a few times to my 67 Coupe on Nov.8, 1966

Then again, no numbers match and the VIN tag is a DMV replacement, so it really does not matter.
