Default Wheel Backspacing For 1962 Vette

The wheels on the '62 Corvette that we are restoring came with wheels probably off of a '87 small Chevy truck (has "K1" lettering on it with "87" under that. They are 15" x 6" with 3 5/8"+/- backspacing. These seem to work. Do these numbers approximate the stock wheel measurements (which I cannot find). These do not have those little bumps' that keep the hubcaps from flying off. We think we can weld on a 'bump' in the 4 places these are seen on these older wheels. Thanks for any advice. Mike

the replacement wheels from Zip are 15x5 with a 3 1/2" backspacing

This car is going to be painted black. I see from Nolan Adams' book that the wheels on white wall tire cars were the body color. Would the back side of the wheel have also been a gloss black? Tks.
