I had 2 of the 58 Corvettes a Panama Yellow and a Red one. But this is not about them, my question is do any of you 58 owners know of or ever hear of a one only 1958 Factory Painted Gold Corvette? There was one ( they say the only one) sold at the Mecum Auction a couple years ago in Indianapolis Spring Auction. I had never heard of one being a factory painted Gold. I know there is not one in the Corvette Black Book listed.
So do any of you guys know anything about the Gold 58 Corvette? I do know it now sets in a private collection in Iowa.

If you were famous and had enough money, the factory would sometimes paint a car any color you wanted.

Garage find 58 Fuelie
This is my 58 fuelie I got yesterday. The guy I bought it from was the second owner who bought it in 1971. Drove it for a few years and then was going to restore it.
The engine has the wrong heads and harmonic balancer.

108152, a late 58 with an approximate birthday of June 28.
Don't know if black is her original color or not. Scraped some paint off in the trunk compartment behind the passenger seat but didn't find any crayon writing to indicate original color.
Came with the hood support mounted on the passenger side which isn't correct for the build date. Passenger side fender has the area where the hood was originally mounted...So anyone have a late 58 hood and wanna trade for an early one ?

Here’s ours
i am new here, just learning how to search this forum and not just ask questions that have already been answered. I am doing the research for my dad this car he got from his cousin who was the original owner. It’s an early 58. So it’s got all the problems that were fixed later haha. We are restoring it nearly just like original but not 100 percent. It’s number 1444 I think Dates it to December 1st 1957... hope to post fully restored pictures eventually. Only going to waste your time with one picture of it right now.. it actually looks better in this picture than what we are dealing with haha. The hood isn’t even attached to the under skin yet. But it’s the original hood skin on top. Love seeing all these pics on this thread.

Is this 58 Signet red? Looks more like Roman maybe? I love the color.

Project car undergoing restoration at present time. I currently have a thread "C1 1958 Inspirational Restoration Thread" running on the forum. Would really help me if some of you 58 owners can check the thread out every once in while. If you see mistakes or can assist on some of my questions in the thread please feedback to me. If you have questions for me I am more than willing to share info. Bill Texas
