Default BB Radiator with SB Engine, Hoses

I installed a Dewitts 66 BB rad with electric fans, also 66 BB rad support, in my 65 SB. I am have trouble finding a lower rad hose. BB hose is too short and SB hose is too long. Anyone using this rad with a SB? What lower hose did you use?

Thanks
Tom

Any problem with cutting the SB hose shorter?

It's too long in the middle. Not at the ends. I would have to cut a section out and splice it with a tube. That's my back up plan. I sure would like to find a hose that fits without piecing it.

Thanks

my local FLAPS will let me wander through their hoses to see if I can find something that might work.

I have a local parts place I deal with on a regular basis. I'll ask if I can look through their hose selection.

Thanks

When I ran a BB radiator in my vintage racer (avatar) this is what I did. It worked well and wasn't as visually obvious as you might think.

If you go this route, be sure you use a splice tube with barb ends so pressure won't blow the hose off.

I thought I would have to make something. I didn't know you could buy them. Thanks!

Tom,

Take a look at Speedway Motors:

They call this "straight aluminum hose connector, 3 inch" and is available in a variety of ODs. It's not what I used (and I can't find a listing for what I used), but it will do what you need.

Great! Thanks Jim! I have one more hose to try before I give up. There is a different hose listed for a 68 SB and the radiator is the same as a 66 BB according to the parts listing.

I'm using a Dewitt's BBC radiator and the '67 BBC lower hose with a SBC and it fits pretty good. I see that CC lists two different lower BBC hoses. I have the 3882826 "427 ALL" vs "396/L88".
