63 interior mirror survey ?
According to Noland Adams book there were 4 different versions used in 63.
1) Very early cars used a double crimped edge around the mirror edge with 2 rivets on the back side.
2) Another type was a single crimped edge, and 2 rivets.
3) Single crimped edge with 2 rivets but the rivets were spaced farther a part form one another.
4) Single crimped edge with NO rivets, these were used randomly during the year.
My car, which I believe to have the original mirror, based on it having the correct date code which is early nov. has the one with no rivets.
During judging yesterday, judge says it is NOT correct for my vin. So why does it have the correct date code ? I know it is correct because it came on the car.
Anyone else have this mirror on there early car ? What style does anyone with known originals have ? thanks.

Two things to consider:
A) You can get date coded repro mirrors - so yours may not be original.
B) You are assuming the judge in question knew what he was talking about.

Thanks Frankie. I am hoping some people respond with what type mirrors they have along with their build dates.

The AIM shows 2 mirrors, with one listed as "Optional" - it depends on what was in the bucket when your car passed. They had it right and then changed it in the lst "revision", probably so they could have another revision.

Like Frankie says, the repro date coded mirrors have been available for a long time, so its hard to tell. I was wondering if my mirror was original too, because of this. Unfortunately, its a late car and not helpful for you.
Have you posted the question on the NCRS Tech board?
