Default 3 terminal connector

Can someone tell what the connector next to the hand brake on my 1965 is for? It has 2 black with orange stripes on one end terminal, one black with yellow stripe on the middle terminal, and one black with blue stripe on the other end terminal. It looks like it was plugged in at some time in the past. Thanks Ron B.

Looking at my diagram for 1964, your description sounds like the heater switch connector.

The wires are probably 12 ga, heavy enough for a blower motor. But my fan works the way it is now, unplugged. Would this just an unused connector, because it is a factory air car? I really appreciate the help guys. Ron B.

Factory air cars did use the stock dash harnes blower motor connector.

I have to agree with W64N on the connector, see diagram.

That is the configuration of the connector, but I have my 3 fan speeds with it unplugged. Does the factory air car have a separate harness added on, leaving the primary harness unplugged? Ron B.

That connector described by the OP isn't used on an A/C car - it's part of the dash harness, and is taped up out of the way, as shown in the C60 section of the Assembly Manual. Its function is handled by the add-on A/C harness.

I think the confusion is probably over the fact that you left the word "not" out of your reply in post #4.

"Factory air cars did use the stock dash harnes blower motor connector."
Instead of:
Factory air cars did not use the stock dash harness blower motor connector.
