other than the tank sticker, is there any way to dig up original docs for my '67? i.e., is there any way to order a window sticker, reprint of the tank sticker, etc, by vin?

It's a long shot but have you tried the NCRS's Shipping Data Report Service?

From the website:
"The information consists of the dealer code, dealer zone number, dealer name and dealer address (if available) and the date the car was produced. No other information or any types of documents are available.

The good news is this should allow you to find the original dealer where your Corvette was sold and possibly open the door to finding more information about your Corvette."

Some states allow access to previous owner info. That might help you get some history of the car.
