Gorgeous car, love the color combo. I'll bet when you go to get in it on a hot day with shorts on you'll be very happy you didn't get black or navy! :

Too true! And the seats are leather, which though not correct, is an awfully nice upgrade to have when driving in situations as you mention above!

11.5-1 vs 10-1
[QUOTE=Kerrmudgeon;1592501923]Does anyone have problems with the 11.5 to 1 compression in those motors, as far as getting good fuel, tuning, or overheating due to lousy fuel, or any problems associated with the pop up pistons that came with them?
An engine guy is trying to convince me to change slugs in my new motor from the pop up stockers to flat tops at about 10 to 1.
P.S.. It will be running the 350-350 hydraulic cam which is real close to the stock 327-350 cam.
I have one of each. An Original, untouched engine with 11.5 to 1 compression and cam (it's the '151') and another car with a rebuilt L79 with 10 to 1. The original runs great (with premium) and the rebuilt one runs great (with regular or premium). Neither get great mileage. Both run right at their 160-180 T-stats. I had an issue with the original one running hot but it had nothing to do with the engine. I was running it without correct vacuum initially (ported versus manifold?) The first one was purchased from the original owner. I think the key issue with cooling is keeping everything stock and the way the General did it. The rebuilt one has the typical 160 T-stat and a higher pressure oil pump. Those darn engine rebuilders think the 160s are necessary. Even the best ones. Don't really get that. I will likely change the oil pump back to stock very soon. Both cars run great.

Thanks Matt.....I screwed up, this is supposed to be a new thread. I reposted it. too late at night I guess.

Thanks all, I definitely was not going to compromise on color--for me, it had to be Marina Blue--an amazing color, looks great on the 'Vette and only available in '67. Getting the white interior was an unexpected and very pleasant bonus, as I was expecting to find either black or blue. Now, if I can just get the transporter to speed up the delivery! :-)
Of course I am a little prejudiced. My 66 is the same exact blue / blue white combo.
In 66 it was called Nassau blue but it is the same paint as Marina blue. Story is the color was inspired by tropical blue water.
Enjoy it. It is stunning!

Thanks all--I'm humbled by all the kind words! Any suggestions on how to keep that white interior nice and white? Is there a particularly good cleaner for that color? Great to be part of the 'club' now...still waiting for someone to share the secret handshake with me though!

Thin, light gray cloth slipcovers will keep the white vinyl clean and your legs at least as cool in shorts on a hot, sunny day.
Now, how 'bout a hardtop with not-quite-stock WHITE vinyl? THAT combo would really POP on your car in my opinion, and 99+% will never know they only came with black vinyl when ntroduced on C2 hardtops in '67.

I talked to the transport company and sounds like the driver may be picking it up tomorrow. It should be a 1 to 1.5 day transit, so fingers crossed that he gets it tomorrow!

Darn! Sorry for the late post! I was going to offer to drive it from No. CA to So. CA. I would even pay for gas and my plane flight home just for the pleasure of driving this beautiful car!
