Default Where did you drive your Corvette today?

My sister and brother in-law are in a large car club up in Albany Oregon that was doing a club cruise this weekend, so Jennifer and I decided to horn in on one day of their fun. On Friday we drove up to Crater Lake, which is the deepest lake in the US at over a mile deep. Even though Jennifer and I have been to the lake a couple times before it never gets old seeing that deep blue water and the rugged landscape of the caldera which forms the lake.
We put another 250 or so miles on the Vette and added countless smiles in the process.

Drove my C7 to the blood center to donate platelets. I've donated over 64 gallons.

Back to my shop. (95% chance of rain here in North Central Minnesota today, with a good chance of severe thunder showers).

Hi Russ! ......good to hear from you, and to know Jenn is doing well. Car looks great, although I would have expected the top to be at home with weather like that.

Did you get your boat all rigged up the way you want it......any pics?

Keep in touch bud.

Oh ya.....I had my 62 out last week for a short cruise, still not happy with the way it's running, with one low cylinder. Need some time and better health to finish my new motor.

Nice to see you and Jennifer out in the Vette. If you see a red '73 say Hi, they are friends with a house nearby and were headed up there today. They also have a maroon '61. Enjoy the trip.

Did ya happen to notice the white stuff laying about next to the roads in the pics Robbie?? . it was a beautiful day up there (~6500' elevation) all right, but a bit cool (I still wore cut-offs however ) Actually I rarely take the hardtop off any more, even in the summer heat. it's a bit harder to enter and exit from, but actually seems to be cooler driving without the sun beating down on my bald head. that and Jen prefers not having the wind in her hair.

Did you get your sailboat all rigged up the way you want it......any pics?
Yup. we've spent 3 overnighters on the lake so far this spring, and several more one day trips. We love the Mcgregor 25, but I'm working on another boat I bought last week that will be a lot quicker (20 min vs 1.5 hr) to set up and break down however, for when we want to just do a quick day trip. it's a Victoria 18. a pretty little sailboat with a full keel.

Narlee. The only other Vetts we saw at the lake was a riverside red 64, a white 80 and I think I saw a 20?? up there in the parking lot. This is kinda the reason I posted this, as it sure seems like a lot of folks aren't driving the cars like they used to. My BIL's car is a 51 Chev with 6 and 3 speed. they drive the wheels off that car all over the state and beyond. the club thy belong to had ~60 cars registered for this cruise, but Vettes were in short supply .
So who has photos of they're recent trips? (thinking about it does not count. sorry Dan )

Cheers,
Russ

Ain't that the truth. Did anyone ask : "Is that one of those "split-windows"? I get that almost all the time from people looking right at the rear window of my '67. It seems that's the ONLY thing most people know about old Corvettes.

Good to hear from you, Russ.

Had family commitments yesterday, but Friday we managed to add over 100 miles. Over 2300 miles this year so far; headed to Des Moines this coming weekend, and in mid-July to the Meltdown Drags in Byron IL.

Never know when I'll wake up dead, so try to enjoy it as often as possible.

Mike
