would anyone know how many 1959 corvettes automatic were produced and if they came with 327

no 327s in 59, only 283s...

There were 1,878 59 Corvettes built with a Powerglide trans. 1,551 with the base 283/230 hp engine, 293 with the 283/245 2x4 engine and 34 with the 283/250 FI engine.

As wmf62 said, all 59's were 283's. The 327 wasn't introduced until 62.

thanks for the info guys.i just have a chance to buy a 59 corvette with a 327 converted to fuel injection.does this mean a huge appreciation in this vehicle.mind you buying it from a friend of a friend and is not passing it as numbers matching.thanks

the ONLY thing that will make it appreciate would be IF the fuel injection is the Rochester type; and that appreciation would be the FI itself...
