I look forward to this movie as I love the mid year Corvettes!

Is it me or this car has an uncanny ressemblance with Brian Hobaugh's dedcated autocross C2 (which is indeed a '65), down to the black front bumpers?
Good stuff in any case, I prefer it to the silver train-bridge-jumping Grand Sport roadster lookalike from F&F 5...

Personally I'm not a big fan of seeing corvettes in action movies, they get totaled and thrown away after production is done. It's nice to see but sad in the end. I believe fast five totalled a total of 200+ vehicles for the production of the movie.

Next to the original 63 Grand Sport, Brian's C2 is my favorite looking Vette of all time.
I do think this is his car because the fender flares are very unique and they appear to be the same on both cars. No way that car gets wrecked in the movie, maybe a clone gets thrashed but Brian's car is too cool to total out.
But then again, for the right amount of money everything is for sale.
I've seen Brian's car in person and do remember that the front turn signal trim is in black....can't tell if the movie car version is black or chrome looking in that grainy picture. Anyway, the producers got the right car for the roll.

It most definitely looks like Brian's dad's car without the spoiler. the Last time I saw him running it in San Diego Good Guys, he had the spoiler off. And remember, it's his dads car, so no way is anything going to happen to it.
But, it will be fun do see on the big screen.

I heard Brian say that several copies of his car were made plus the original would also be in the film. They will only wreck the copies. I hope.

Unless you want the film's budget to go sky high, you don't wreck collector cars.
That said, a lot of things have been wrecked in the name of "art" (if you can consider these films works of art).

Look at the top in the picture. No trim around the windshield. Also no vent in back which makes it a 66. The 65 has vents on the side behind the window. Looks like the movie car copy of Brian's.

One of the main differences, IMO, between the car on the picture and Brian's car is the stance: Brian's car is perfect and level, and the stance and fender-to-wheel gaps are identical front and rear. On the other hand, on the picture of the suspected "F&F8" car, it looks like there is more rubber back than front, it has a slight "nose down" stance. Also while the front fender gap (or overlap, if you see what I mean) looks similar to Brian's, in the back it is too small.

But maybe a PO filled in the vents to update his "old" '65?
Nice to see that much rubber on a small-block!

Universal made a handful of copies to make Fast 8. My car was used to produce the cars and no harm was done to the original. The car is a 1965. The cars used to copy mine were all different mid years changed to look like mine. Depending on the stunts being performed, the ride height on the stunt cars seem to vary a lot. I am looking forward to seeing how it all looks on the big screen!

Thanks for taking the time to clarify and for the additional pictures, Brian!
Your car is a stunner, it deserves all the blockbuster screen time it gets (plus a cameo appearance for the owner, maybe?)!

So were the copies all valid legit mid years? With real vins and all?
I think I just threw up.
I know they have a budget and they could probably buy 10/12 mid years on a 500k budget, but cmon

I agree, I'm happy to see C2s in this movie but it means a few of them are headed to the junkyard... I felt the same when I saw the "Dukes of Hazzard" movie for the first time about a month ago: I like Chargers as much as the next guy, but watching them "land" after they jump made me cringe every time.
