What's it worth? 1954 project, pics inside!
Here is another one of my fabulous "What's it worth" threads. This time, another basket case car, a 1954 to be exact. So, please comment with what you think it's worth! My guess- $10k-$15k, IF the owner can find the transferable registration. Onto the details...
1954 Corvette, well, parts of it. Body is separated from the frame. Frame has been sitting in the weeds for a long time! No engine. Dash is intact and looks to be in good shape. Body looks pretty straight for what it is, heck they weren't very straight brand new. Frame is remarkably solid for its age and sitting outside as long as it did, but there is some rot on the bottom side of it. Story is, gentleman bought it around 1980 to restore, disassembled it, and never got around to working on it. What you see in the pictures are all they have. Onto the pictures...

Looks like 67 seats and a bunch of NOS trim for 58-61. Frame looks a little rough. Probably worth more to part out, quickly be upside down in a restoration. $15k depends on whether it has hubcaps, radio, engine, VIN tag, title, etc. Too many unknowns to be accurate on price.

10 to 15k tops - maybe.....
Not much left that is correct
Trans, steering wheel, is not correct
Lots of body damage and "smoothing" of all the seams and holes....

is the bow on the pass side front frame rail come in further than the DS or is it just the pic?
Sure wish I could find one for 10k!

If all of the trim is there, 10-12k. The problem is even some of the stuff that is there needs replacing if you were to restore meticulously. Also with the engine missing, I question if it is worth it. Original engines for that car a extremely pricy.

I'd buy that for 10k.

Not that it matters but do you have any idea on the VIN number - appears it may be an earlier production model.
Would agree with others that $10,000 would be somewhat reasonable, but what is missing is pricey especially on the rare engine parts like carbs, water pump, overflow tank, distributor. What about it guys - there is probably $5,000 in those parts alone...that is if you want it back origional.
Fun to see what is sitting out in the barns though.
Good Luck.
