This is interesting as I have seen two midyears in the last 10 days in Virginia Beach. There was a 63 red vert at Dockside for dinner two Fridays ago and this past Sunday I was on my way home from Landstown after a Poker Run and a red 65 vert with sidepipes was behind me on Princess Anne Road. I was in my Z06. He waved and turned left so I lost him. I have never seen either one of these cars before. The 65 was very similar to my car. We have well over a million folks who live in the Hampton Roads area and there are very few midyears you see on the road. I was unable to get pictures of either car.

I saw a nice '63 Coupe in Anchorage (not sure where all these coupes are coming from) yesterday. Sadly we met in opposing traffic and I couldn't get a photo or a better look! It was a dark burnt red color and looked really nice!!

I'm not sure how you define "old" but I'm 65 YO and take the '65 out at least once a week as long as it's not raining.

Mark,

In the four+ years since I came back I have seen a total of 3 C1's and C2s out and about, not counting Cars and Coffee and the local shows:

A C1 (59 or 60), black with hardtop (couldn't see the cove colors) driving south on I-464 over the I-264 overpass and headed towards Great Bridge. This was a few years ago.

A 64 (pretty sure) Daytona blue with white convertible top (up) out around the back woods sections of Princess Anne road on an early Saturday morning in April 2014.

A 65 Red (again pretty sure) convertible heading east on Kempsville Road at Clearfield last summer on a Saturday afternoon.

In other news, I wound up at Cars and Coffee this morning by pure chance (taking my son to a doctor's appointment). That has grown into a huge event. I met (ran into) Greg, aka FLYNAVY30 and his sweet C20 there.

There is my 57, 65 and another 57, 59, couple of 62s (including AZDoug's) and another 65 that recently showed up in my area (20 mile radius from my home) that I have seen. Maybe a couple more at local car shows that I have NEVER seen driven around here. If there are more they are hiding. My two are the most often driven/seen around here.

So while travelling in Rome then Florence not a single C1 or C2 in sight. However we did a pizza cooking class and they taught us to make gelato for dessert. After tour was over we got back to downtown Florence and my wonderful wife agreed we should do their guided tour in which we would drive a vintage Fiat 500!
We had the best time ever driving along the lovely narrow country roads in the hills around Florence. It was mostly 30 kph but we didn’t care. We so enjoyed this!!!

Our little picnic basket Fiat began to make a clunking noise. I pulled our so our guide could check it. After a 100 yards he drove the gear box went out completely. We left it there...

We eventually had to drive our guide’s car! When we got back he said the other car’s gear box failed but it was not my fault as he said I knew how to drive the car. It was fun trying to go up hills w 3 big people, And down!

Nice! I passed you just as you were exiting to Metropolis in a Dark grey/green dually GMC Denali and wanted to beep, but since you were exiting I didn’t want to startle you. Good looking ‘67!!

NICE!!! Your car sits perfect in the front. Can you send me a PM next time you go to RTC for the Saturday morning show. Would be nice to see other C2's in the sea of exotics there.

Default Surf’s up

This past Saturday, Santa Cruz.

BTW:
As for the ‘wave’, I notice more thumbs up acknowledgement from other classic cars and trucks out for a cruise. Newer generation Corvette guys?.....nope. ..

Nice lineup! Looks like the Commons in Calabasas?

Not sure which is yours but the one on the left is almost identical to my '65 (maroon/saddle/tan top).
