Default Can a 66/67 front grille be repaired?

Has anyone ever had a 66/67 grille repaired? I have a fairly nice OE grille with a broken mounting tab, can it be fixed?

I suspect its made out of some low grade metal (maybe pot metal) like the instrument cluster. I had Librandi's repair a crack in my instrument cluster and it came out perfect. I also have them chroming a 67 grill now.
If you have the tab, someone could probably weld it back on. Its a matter of finding some old school welder who has experience with pot metal.

That's the problem as the tab is missing

Never heard of welding Pot Metal, but things change everyday. I am guessing a BUBBA repair is about all you can do. Bend a clip out of steel and pop rivet it to the grille.
If you have the funds, buy a new grille and use the old one for cooking hot dogs over your fire pit.

Check out the ads is Hemmings. I have had old dealer license plate frames repaired and they are pot metal. One warning, it is not cheap.

That's what I'd do if buying a new grille is out of the question - a mechanical repair is likely to be more reliable than any kind of "welding" on a zinc die-casting.

I would take it to your favorite local chrome plating shop. They fix messed up pot metal all day long.

You can fix it all day long and it might last on a non drivin museum car. But start driving it and hit a few bumps for a while and see how well it holds up

Pot metal repair has been being done successfully for decades. Take it to someone that actually knows what they're doing.
