Default How to remove 63 wiper switch?

Hi I am in the process of refinishing my 63 gauges.

I have a couple of questions, how do you remove the wiper switch?
Also what is the best way to clean the gauge cups in the center of the gauges with out damaging the needles?

I have ordered a new wiper switch but need to remove the old one. Every this else is removed.

See attached,thanks

IIRC there is a nut on that wiper switch with two notches in it that you can remove with needle nose pliers or the proper tool. I wouldn't do more to those gauge cups than wipe them with some tissue with a little Windex on it.

This is from my 61 but it should be the same as yours.
Here is the socket that is used to remove the nut.

Dean - the tool shown is the way to go. Most of the vendors have these, it's a good thing to have in your toolbox. John

That tool is also used on the headlight switch, C1 & C2. You can use needle nose but one slip and you have a big scratch on your console.

OK, I was able to remove the switch using a long needle nose pliers, and soaking it with WD40 overnight.

Thanks all.

Now to clean the gauge bezels.
